George Charles Garman 09/09/09 to 01/29/10

January 29, 2010 our world was turned upside down when our 4 month old little boy earned his wings after a battle with Mitochondrial Disease and awoke in the Lords loving arms.

"Life can not be measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away."

Bee Stawk

I know an odd title to this post but I had to share a moment today that I had with the little boys. We have had beautiful weather today and once Josh got home we took a walk to my mom's house. Michael and Josh got there and immediately headed outside to the front porch. They were playing in the dirt. The next thing that happened was Josh came in with a water bottle and started taking water outside. The two of them were covered in mud and after about the third trip in the house I finally went outside to see what they were up to. Joshua was crouched down next to the porch digging in the mud and Michael was pouring the water. I asked them what they were doing. I was told that we are making a "bee stawk" There was a puzzled look on my face until they explained that they were planting a seed for a magic "bee stawk" It registered to me that they were talking about at bean stalk. Michael then proceeded to tell me that it was going to grow big and high and they were going to climb up and get George back.

At that moment my heart sunk and cried but also smiled at their innocence. Their hearts are so pure and truly the reason that God says you must come as a child to him. Simple faith is such a hard thing for adults to come by yet we can learn so much from it. I am truly blessed to be their mom and to learn life lessons from them every moment of my life. It hurts to have to watch them go through this and not really understand but maybe it is a blessing. I wish it was as simple as growing a magic bean stalk to go get my son back but it isn't and some day they will understand that it is a permanent thing. Sometimes I think moments like these are gifts from God reminding me of true faith and what is required to enter his kingdom.
